Leadership Training
One of the core values at Dwell Church is Leaders Raising Leaders. We believe the local church is one of the primary places where leaders are formed — and that character must always precede competency. We take leadership development seriously, and we build it into the DNA of how we disciple people at every level.
How we think about leadership development: Leadership development at Dwell is not a ladder to climb. It’s a journey of discovering what God has called you to — and growing into that calling with integrity, faithfulness, and depth.
We believe leadership develops in stages:
Lead Yourself — Before you can invest in others, you must be formed yourself. This is where discipleship begins.
Lead Others — As character develops, you begin investing in the people around you — discipling, encouraging, and serving.
Lead Leaders — You start developing other leaders, not just doing ministry yourself. Multiplication becomes part of how you think.
Lead a Ministry Area — Carrying responsibility for a team or ministry within the church, with accountability and ownership.
Lead the Organization — Broad leadership responsibility for the health and direction of the church as a whole.
Most people are called to lead faithfully at one or two of these stages — and that is exactly where God wants them. The goal is never to move to the next level. The goal is to discover where God has called you and to lead there with integrity and depth.
This progression maps directly onto our discipleship pathway. Abide forms the person. Walk develops the disciple. Send begins to surface the leader. From there, those who demonstrate godly character and a genuine heart for others are invited into deeper leadership conversations.
What we look for: We are not looking for the most talented or the most experienced. We are looking for people who are humble, teachable, faithful in the small things, and genuinely formed by the Word. Competency matters — but it is always built on the foundation of character.
Interested in leadership development at Dwell? The best first step is simply being present, being faithful, and being formed. If God is stirring a call to lead, let’s talk.
